ISS Asha Rules & Regulations

Application Rules
- All players must be over the age of 18 to apply and participate on this simulation. Please provide a Date of Birth in your "User" section when applying, including a year of birth otherwise you will not be accepted.
- All sections of the Biography must be filled out. The only exeception to this is if you have arranged this prior to your application with the Commanding Officer.
- Please ensure your applications use correct grammar and spelling. A few spelling mistakes and typo's will happen, but please try to remain accurate.
- A sample post must be provided with all applications.
- Please keep your character realistic. This is a Terran Empire Simulation and there are a few species that cannot be accepted. Please refer to 'Character Rules' below.
- Please ensure you state when filling out your application whether your character is an officer, enlisted, civilian or others stated and their allegiance. This will determine your starting rank and possibly your position on the Asha.

Character Rules
- When creating a character please ensure that your character is believable and realistic. Species that are not allowed are: Q, Borg still in the Collective, Species 8472, Changelings, Jem'Hadar, Prophets from the Bajoran Wormhole (Alternatively Pah Wraiths),Androids, Augments and Delta Quadrant Species.
- Should you wish to play a species listed above, please contact the Commanding Officer. Some may be accepted if it is feasable and realistic.
- Character's can come from different backgrounds. However please ensure that the position you are applying for fits them.
- The minimum starting rank to join the Asha is that of Ensign. However rank is awarded on Character Biography History and service record. The maximum starting rank you will recieve is that of Full Lieutenant unless you have arranged for a higher rank with the Commanding Officer.
- Please keep service record and history believable and realistic. You're not going to be a Fleet Admiral at age fifteen and have superpowers because you're a insanely smart Vulcan for example.
- Canon character's will not be accepted under any circumstance. You cannot play Admiral James T Kirk or Captain Picard. Those characters are copyrighted by Star Trek and Paramount.

Posting Policy
- All posts must be written in 3rd person. That is "he/she said" etc.
- Personal logs must be written in 1st person. That is "I did this" etc.
- Posts must be a minimum of 800 words for a Solo Post (Written by 1 character) and 1000 words for a Joint Post (Written by 2 or more characters)
- If a post should be longer than 1200 words, it will need to be split into sections of roughly 1200 words (Or closest equal number) each and labelled (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) etc. This is to save time and ensure easy reading.
- All players must respond to tags at least once a week, and post a solo or joint post every three weeks.
- All posts must be written in clear English please. Other languages can be used in dialogue providing there is a translation present.
- Each post you complete must be signed by the characters name, rank and position as a signature.
- Do not post unfinished posts or personal logs, please make sure they are finished before they are posted.
Posts may be moderated by the command staff. This is for any player who need’s guidance or the post is deemed unsuitable to publish. This may also happen to keep the timing correct.
- You must only play your characters, do not write for someone else's characters unless you have permission to do so and it has been cleared by the Executive or Commanding Officer.

Posting Content Policy
- The Asha is an 18+ sim and therefore will include adult content.
- Swearing and violence is allowed.
- You cannot murder or kill another players character unless you have permission to do so.
- Sexual content is allowed, but not in graphic detail. Please write maturely.
- Open racism is NOT allowed on this sim to other players. If you want to write a Terran who has problem with Andorians, then please keep it in Character. However Racism is not accepted to other players at all. Anyone found doing this will be immediatly removed from the sim.
- Posts must not include any canon characters from Star Trek or related franchises. Copyright infringement on these characters is a serious offense and will not be tolerated.
- If you are unsure about the content in a post, please contact either your Department Head, Executive Officer or the Commanding Officer before posting it so it can be checked.

Code of Conduct

- All rules must be upheld by all members of the Asha. Any breaking of the rules will result in punishment.
- Players must respect and be kind to other players on the sim. Arguing is not acceptable behaviour out of character.
- Problems must be taken up the chain of command. Your direct superior officer is your Department Head. Department Heads report to the Second Officer. The Second Officer reports to the Executive Officer and the Executive Officer reports to the Commanding Officer.
- The chain of command can be skipped if there is a serious problem, in which the Commanding Officer will either take care of the issue or contact the fleet JAG.
- Access powers must not be abused. Department Heads will have access to their department only, and the players within. If access is abused then it will be revoked.
- Under no circumstance will a player hack into or use another players account without permission from the player and both the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer.
- Any behaviour that is deemed unacceptable or inappropriate will be dealt with by the proper chain of command and punishments will be issued.
- Players must respect the chain of command and listen to their superior officer.
- All Starfleet Personnel are required to follow orders, unless it is part of the story. Not to do so will result in mutiny charges.
- The command team has the right to remove any player or character that they deem unacceptable or inappropriate. Unfair dismissal can be filed with the JAG if you believe that you were judged wrongly.
- There is a three warning policy on the Asha. If you commit one offense then you will be given a warning. The second time you will get a final warning and an email from the command staff. The third time you will be removed from the sim.

Promotion and Demotion Policy

- All Starfleet Officer’s that join the Asha will start at the maximum rank of Lieutenant or equivalent unless there are special circumstances from the command team.
- Promotions will be handed to those who participate in good quality posts during the mission.
- Promotions will also be handed out to those who deserve it, not because you want it.
- No one shall be promoted to a higher rank that the Executive and Commanding Officers.
- Demotions shall be used as punishment for violating the code of conduct. Any character may be demoted to a lower rank depending on the seriousness of the violation. This includes in and out of character conduct.
- The command team have the right to demote a character from a senior position to another position within the same department if the player is inactive.
- Department heads may promote and demote players in their department; with permission from the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer and only if the player is not higher rank than the department head, and with a valid reason.
- You have the right to change your None-playing characters rank, but not your own. You cannot promote or demote yourself.

Leave of Absence Policy

- A player can request a Leave of Absence at any time.
- You have the right to take a Leave of Absence with a valid reason. This does not include “I got bored, so I’ll come back when you do the next mission”.
- Leave of Absence can last up to four weeks starting from the day of acceptance.
- Extended Leave of Absence can last up to Eight Weeks from the day of acceptance.
- The command team have the right to deactivate any player or character that has been on Leave of Absence for over Eight Weeks.
- You must inform the command team when you return from Leave of Absence in order to be returned to active duty.

By applying to the ISS Asha, you are accepting these rules and regulations and promise to abide by them willingly.
